On 2nd September 2004 several thousand people from across Europe gathered to witness the consecration of the monastery’s church. The day opened with a procession and liturgical celebration presided over by the Bishop of Pilsen. In accordance with tradition, the cloister was opened up for a few hours during the afternoon to those who had attended the ceremony – the first and last time that the monastery will open its doors to outsiders in this way.
